The Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University, Nerian Sharif, AJ&K is run and managed
by Anjaman-e-Mohi-ul- Islam Siddiquia Trust, (Reg.) and was established under
Act No.1 of 2000 of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. It is a chartered
university and is recognized by the UGC / Higher Education Commission (HEC) and
the Government of Pakistan. The Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University, Nerian Sharif,
AJ&K is singular effort of the people of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
The establishment of this university encourages the educational planners to come
forward for the promotion of the education not only for the local populace, but
also for our future generations.
The idea of establishment of this university by Allama Pir Alla-ud-Din Siddiqui
was in fact in commemoration of the memory of his late father, Sheikh Hazrat Khawaja
Pir Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Ghazanvi, who was one of the great saints of his time and
devoted his whole life to the cause of Islam by motivating the people of the far
flung area of Trarkhal, AJ&K to mould their lives according to the tenets
of Islam.
The Chancellor following in the footsteps of his illustrious father has devoted
his life to further the cause of modern education in combination with the basic
religious education. The raison de tre underlying this mission of his life is
to recapture the glorious traditions of scholarship of our ancestors. This will
provide an opportunity to the Pakistan youth to utilize their talent to attain
brilliance and excellence in the modern techniques and skills to compete with
the best in the world.
