Punjab Announces To Reopen Schools From 11th October 2021

The Punjab government has announced to reopen the public and private schools across the province from 11th October 2021. The decision has been taken by considering the situation of the coronavirus pandemic. The education minister of Punjab, Murad Raas has also said that the regular classes will be commenced according to the provided schedule and there will be no more staggered approach. The educational institutes will follow the previous routine and classes will be held regularly for the students. 

Implementation of SOPs

The minister has directed the students to follow the SOPs issued by the government to control the spread of the COVID-19. He urged the students to wear the mask and maintain the social distance while attending the physical classes. Due to the lockdown imposed by the government, the educational institutes have been closed for an extended time period. Moreover, the annual exams of matric and intermediate could not be commenced on time and got delayed. Murad Raas has announced the reopening of the schools after the permission granted by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) by reviewing the data submitted by the Health Department.

Decision of NCOC

The cases of the coronavirus have been declined due to which the NCOC has permitted the educational institutes to resume the academic activities. It has been agreed to open the educational institutes after the launch of the school vaccination program. Moreover, many students have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. Earlier it has been announced to reopen the educational institutes with only 50% capacity across the country but now all the students will attend the classes daily.
