Education Minister Announces Civil Service Reforms Introduced By Government
The federal minister of education and professional training has announced the civil service reforms introduced by the government. It was previously said that a wide range of reforms will be made by the authorities to encourage talented and competent officials and to remove the nepotism system by strengthening internal accountability. The main purpose is to weed out the incompetent officials. One month after taking the oath as a prime minister, Imran Khan had set up the task force to revamp bureaucracy.
Statement of Shafqat Mahmood
With the passage of time, many reforms have been introduced in the civil services to ensure that capable people secure the top slot that is determined to serve the nation. Shafqat Mahmood has addressed the press conference to announce the measures taken by the prime minister regarding the institutional reforms. He said the government has changed the criteria for retirement, promotion, rotation, efficiency and discipline, and recruitment on the MP scale.

According to the new policy, the promotion will depend on the annual reports, training, and board evaluation. In the case of any reference used for the promotion, it will be deferred. The chairmen of FPSC, secretary, and joint secretary will take the decision about the retirement of grade 20, grade 17 to 19 and grade 16 respectively. For the Pakistan administrative service, the strength has been reduced. As per the amendment in efficiency and discipline rules, the inquiry committee will have the right to take the decision of punishment in 30 days and disciplinary action will also be taken against the person. For the appointment in MP scale, the time period has been increased by 2-3 years and after the advertisement of the post, the suitable person will be selected. Moreover, no officer will be allowed to stay in the province for more than 10 years and now the promotion has also been associated with the rotation of officer.
