Female Students Of Balochistan To Receive Monthly Stipend in 2021

Noor-Ul-Haq Baloch, Finance secretary of Balochistan has disclosed that the Government of Balochistan plans to pay a monthly stipend. On Tuesday, he told that the Government is finalizing a plan that will enable the female students of grade 6 to grade 12 to receive a monthly stipend. This plan is under consideration to encourage the female education in Balochistan. Poverty is one of the main reason of so many students not going to schools. This monthly stipend will help the students to pay their educational expenses and continue their studies in the province.

Details of the stipend
The monthly stipend will be based on the qualification level of the student. Government plans to distribute the stipend funds to the students in this scheme:
1. Female students of class 6 to class 8 will receive a monthly stipend of 500 rupees.
2. Students of 9th and 10th grade will get 800 rupees on a monthly basis.
3. Intermediate students will obtain 1000 rupees per month.

Funds and Stats
According to the financial secretary of Balochistan Mr. Noor-Ul-Haq Baloch, a total of 110,000 students are enrolled in grades 6-12 in the province of Balochistan. To make sure that this number increases and the female students who are currently enrolled complete their education, the Government of Balochistan is willing to launch the scholarship scheme. The finance secretary revealed that the government of Balochistan will spend a total of 1.2 Billion rupees on this stipend scheme. To make sure that the students don’t have to get in lines for receiving their stipends, the Government will be transferring these funds directly to the bank accounts of the parents of the students. However, he also mentioned that this scheme requires approval from the cabinet of Balochistan. If this policy gets approved, the Government will implement on 1st January, 2021.

According to the UNPO, the situation is of female education is worse than any other part of the world. The monthly stipend scheme is a step towards improving the landscape of female education in Balochistan.
