The government has issued the directives to close the seminaries that are still open across the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the madrassas that are open and holding the classes despite the announcement of NCOC to close the educational institutes. Last month the education ministers had decided to shut down all the institutes including schools, colleges, universities, and tuition centers due to the second wave of coronavirus. According to the announcement, the educational institutes will remain closed till 10th January 2021. The education minister had directed the students to take the online classes as per the schedule provided by the authorities.

Closure of Madrassas

As per the reports, the prime minister has asked for an explanation from the education minister regarding the opening of the madrassas. All the educational institutes are closed so madrassas should also be shut down by considering the current situation of coronavirus pandemic. The national command and operation center had clearly declared that the institutes to remain closed until further notice by the government. So the authorities will take strict action against the madrassas that have violated the decision of the government. The prime minister has also said to instantly close the madrassas without any further delay.

Non Compliance of SOPs

The federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood had previously said that the institutes were closed as they had been not following the standard operating procedures properly. He added that according to the reports of the health department there was the rapid transmission of the coronavirus in the educational institutes. The minister said that the health of the students cannot be taken lightly so the government announced to shut down institutes. Earlier, Shafqat Mahmood had also urged the students to focus on studies and revise the syllabus during the vacations and avoid wasting time.
