HEC Announces Registration Schedule For Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT)
The higher education commission of Pakistan has announced the registration schedule for the law graduate assessment test (GAT). The purpose of the assessment test is to select the eligible and competent individuals that can be enrolled as an advocate with the bar council. Therefore it is mandatory for law graduates to pass the Law-GAT test for practicing the law. On the order of the Supreme Court HEC conducts the test for the students.
Eligibility Criteria
•The candidates that have passed the bachelors in law or equivalent from the HEC/PBC recognized university.
•It is compulsory for the candidates to meet the mentioned eligibility criteria in order to appear in the test.
Registration Process
•The candidates have to register online according to the instructions provided by HEC for the law graduate assessment test.
•Only submitted applications will be entertained by the authorities.
•The test processing fee is Rs.3000/- that has to be submitted in Account No. O 112790056740, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 0112. The pay orders will not be accepted.
•The candidates have to submit the original fee deposit slip through courier to HRD Building, HEC, H-8, Islamabad before the deadline of registration.
•The examination fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
•The last date for the online registration is 26th March 2021.
Important Instructions
•The test will be based on MCQs from the provided curriculum.
•The law-GAT test will be conducted on 11th April 2021 and any change in the announced schedule will be communicated to the students.
•The candidates will get the roll number slip a week before the commencement of the test.
•The candidates will be informed about the date and the venue of the examination center through SMS/Email. It is instructed to the candidates to mention the valid email address and phone number on the application form.
•A print of the roll number slip and original CNIC will be required on the day of the test.
•The examination centers will be made in various cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Sukkur, Abbottabad, Quetta, Multan, Hyderabad, Turbat, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, and Gilgit.
•After the registration, the test center will not be changed in any case.
Other Requirements
•To pass the law graduate assessment test 50% score is required.
•The candidates will have a maximum of three chances to qualify for GAT and HEC conducts this test thrice a year.
