KP Government Passes School Bags Limitation of Weight Bill 2020

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has passed the school bags limitation of the weight bill 2020. According to the bill, the students will get rid of carrying the unnecessary burden of the school books in the bags every day. In the daily routine, the students have to carry the load of the books even day while they are in grade one or two. It is the first one of its kind of bill in Pakistan that has set a separate weight limitation for the different grades. For each grade, the government has set the specific weight limit which is mentioned below in the table. 

The government has taken this step to free the students from carrying the extra load of the books in the school bag. The KP government has warned the educational institutes to comply with the announced bill otherwise the authorities will take strict action against those institutions where the students are found to carry the schools' bags in excess of the mentioned weight. Moreover, it is also directed by the authorities upon the violation of the law the government and the private institutes will be fined up to Rs. 200,000. 

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had introduced the School Bags Limitation of Weight Act 2020 this year in the month of October. In the last year, the provincial government had drafted the bill on the limitation of the school's bag weight but did not present in the assembly. Now finally the bill has been accepted and implemented in all the institutes across the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
