Murad Raas Says No Need To Close Punjab Schools
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has stated that there is no need to close the schools in the province of Punjab. While giving the interview to the news channel he said that all the schools are following the standard operating procedures issued by the school education department. And up till now, only a few schools have reported the positive COVID-19 cases and they have been sealed temporarily. The minister added that Punjab is the only province in which the health guidelines are being followed to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Monitoring Coronavirus Situation
As per the sources, there is a slight increase in the coronavirus cases as the government is continuously monitoring the situation of the pandemic. Murad Raas said that there are thousands of public and private schools across the province and it is not possible for the authorities to visit all the schools. However, the Punjab government has set up an online portal to monitor the situation of COVID-19 in all schools on daily basis. However, the officials are carrying out random testing. In case multiple cases are reported in the school then it will be sealed for a few days.
Decision of Government
While discussing the matter over the early and extended winter vacations he clarified that the situation is under control so there would be no winter vacations and the government took the right decision to reopen the schools. Currently, schools are not being closed and will carry out the routine study as per the schedule. The government has reopened the schools after formulating the various strategies and hard work so it is not possible to shut down the schools again as half of the academic year has been already over. But the government ensures to take all the necessary steps for the protection of teachers and students.
