PMC Announces The Date Of The MDCAT Test For 2020

Medical colleges’ aspirants all over Pakistan were worried about the date of commencement of MDCAT 2020 in the COVID-19 saga. However, the latest notification issued by Pakistan Medical Council has now declared the date of the MDCAT 2020 test. In the first council meeting held by the PMC on the 2nd October, PMC has announced that the National MDCAT Single test will be held in the 2nd week of November 2020. However, the final date of the MDCAT has not been decided until now. The notification by PMS reads that students will have to wait for the announcement of the final MDCAT date until the next week. The reason for the delayed announcement of the final MDCAT test date is that the concerning bodies first have to finalize the logistics setup.

 

This year, the PMC council has decided to appoint NUMS as the exam body of MDCAT 2020. The test will be taken by NUMS based on the common F.Sc. syllabus. Students will pick NUMS entry syllabus as MDCAT test syllabus in the MDCAT 2020 test.

Important guidelines of MDCAT 2020 test

  • Students are advised to follow the NUMS entrance exam syllabus as the MDCAT syllabus.
  • The least passing marks for the MDCAT 2020 test are 60% marks in the MDCAT test.
  • To get admitted to any public or private medical college in Pakistan on the specified seats, all students must pass the MDCAT 2020 test.

The admission drive in both public and private medical colleges of Pakistan will start in November 2020 and end in December 2020. According to the official notification, each province has to follow the merit criteria for admission strictly. In addition to the announcement of MDCAT date and guidelines, the Pakistan Medical Council has also announced the administrative body for MDCAT and issued the Admission Policy for 2020-21. Admission Policy 2020-21 will regulate the process of admission and the final fee structures in the Medical Colleges across Pakistan.
