PMC Makes Important Announcements Regarding Admission Process of Public & Private Colleges
Pakistan medical commission has made important announcements regarding the admission process of public and private medical and dental colleges. The candidates are required to fill the application form according to the instructions issued by the officials. The information about the eligibility criteria, merit generation criteria, documents required for admission, and the admission schedule is mentioned below.
Eligibility Criteria
It is essential for the candidates to meet the eligibility criteria announced by PMC; otherwise, they will not be able to secure admission to medical and dental college. Admission of a foreign student will be strictly based on merit.
- Minimum 65% marks or above in FSc/HSSC or A-levels equivalent certificate
- 60% or above in MDCAT or SAT-II
- In the case of SAT-II 60% or above marks in each subject
Merit Generation Criteria
Following is the merit generation criterion and the college will finalize the total aggregate out of 100% for the final merit of students.
- FSC/A-levels IBCC equivalence certificate- 30%
- MDCAT/SAT-II- 50%
- Interview- 20%
Documents Required
To apply for the MBBS or BDS degree programs following are the documents required to get admission
- Picture
- CNIC/Passport
- FSc/HSSC/A level equivalency certificate
- SAT-II document (if applying on basis of SAT)
Exemption Criteria For Foreign Students
To get admission in the public and private colleges for the 2021 session, SAT-II can be used instead of MDCAT. The weightage of the different subject results in the SAT-II is as follows
- Biology- 40%
- Chemistry- 35%
- Physics/Maths- 25%
Admission Schedule
Pakistan medical commission has also announced the new admission schedule for the candidates. Earlier the authorities had declared the admission deadline 8th January 2021 but due to a delay in the A-levels result the date of the admission has been extended. The date of closure for admission in the public medical and dental colleges is 19th January 2021. The date of closure for admission in the private medical and dental colleges is 22nd January 2021. The merit list for the private medical colleges will be announced on 24th January 2021.
