Primary Schools Resume On 30 September After Six Months Covid-19 Break

Pakistani Govt. had previously closed all educational institutes across the country amidst the novel coronavirus outbreak. Now, after six months, Govt. announced on Tuesday to reopen the primary schools across Pakistan. This step of reopening primary schools is in the continuity of resuming the educational process in Pakistan. 

The Reopening Notification

During a press brief in the National command and control center (NCOC), Shafqat Mehmood, Minister of Education announced that primary level schools will reopen from 29 September. He announced that the reopening of institutions is in the light of the present COVID-19 situation in Pakistan. He said that the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic is under control, hence the schools have reopened from Wednesday. 
Both the parents and health professionals who are concerned about the COVID situation that may get worse after the reopening of primary schools. However, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, the following guidelines can decrease the count of COVID patients.
Wearing a face mask.
Washing hands properly before leaving the house and entering the educational institution.
Maintaining social distancing. 

Guidelines For Parents

Great responsibility lies on parents as the primary schools reopen after the COVID-19 lockdown. Ministry of Education advises parents to follow the four necessary guidelines to keep their kids safe:
i. Don't allow your kids to go to school if they show the signs of Covid-19. 
ii. Make sure to provide your kids with face masks and encourage them to wear masks.
iii. Advise your kids to wash their hands properly.
iv. Prevent your kids from meeting the elderly family members in your home.

According to the school reopening guidelines by the Ministry of Education, schools can be closed again if COVID cases increase in the school area. Educational institutions have to make sure that they follow all the necessary COVID-19 guidelines. Overlooking the guidelines can result in the temporary closing of the schools. People can report schools that are not imposing COVID-19 safety procedures.
