Punjab University Postpones All Examinations Due To Third Wave of COVID-19

Punjab University has postponed all the examinations due to the third wave of COVID-19. The university authorities have taken this decision after reviewing the overall situation of the pandemic as there has been a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. It is informed to the candidates that the written and the practical exams have been delayed with the immediate effect. The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of Punjab University. According to the notification the exams being conducted from 30th March 2021 have been postponed. The university has not issued the revised exam schedule for the students but it will be provided to the students two weeks earlier than the commencement of exams. 

Schedule For Ongoing Semesters

According to the notification issued by the university, the course work of the 1st semester should be completed by 15th April 2021. Afterward, the exams will be commenced so that the students can continue to study in the next semester. The course work of the first semester of MA/MSc should be completed till 30th April 2021 while the classes of the 4th and 6th semesters should be completed till 30th May 2021 and exams will be commenced from the 2nd week of June. The classes of the 8th semester of BS Hons. should be completed by 30th May 2021 and after the conduction of the exams, the result of the students will be notified by the end of July. The course work of the 4th semester of MA/MSc should be completed by 30th May 2021 and the result will be declared at the end of July. 

Implementation of SOPs

The Punjab University has directed the students to follow the SOPs while attending the university. Moreover, the university will ensure the proper implementation of preventative measures so that the risk of the spread of coronavirus can be minimized. Due to COVID-19 many educational institutes in the coronavirus hotspot areas have been closed. The review session of the national command and operation center will be held on 7th April 2021 to analyze the ongoing situation and to take the decision regarding the reopening of schools, universities, and colleges.
