SHC Issues Notice to PMC Over the Legality Of MDCAT 2020

Sindh High Court has issued the notice to Pakistan medical commission over the legality of the medical and dental college admission test 2020. The petition was filed in the court that challenged the authenticity of the medical entrance exam. According to the petitioners, it was stated that many questions were asked out of the syllabus in MDCAT 2020. To investigate this matter, a committee should be formed comprising members from all the provinces. The petitioners further said that if the PMC will issue the merit list before 16th December, it will not affect the petition as it directly questions the legality of the entrance test.

Delay in Result Announcement

The council demanded the Sindh high court to postpone the special MDCAT exam that was announced to be held on 13th December for the candidates that tested positive for the coronavirus. 138 students had submitted their COVID-19 reports and they will appear in the special MDCAT exam. The council also asked to direct the PMC to postpone the MDCAT result announcement according to the provided schedule. The bench issued the notice to all the concerned officials in this regard and the next hearing will be on 16th December.

NMDCAT 2020

The national MDCAT was held on 29th November across the country after several delays. More than 1 lac students appeared in the test to get admission in the medical and dental college. As per the Pakistan medical commission, the result of the MDCAT exam will be announced on 16th December. Furthermore, the court had previously ordered the PMC to declare the result of both MDCAT exams on the same day. The PMC will also provide the same merit list for the special MDCAT and the MDCAT that was held on 29th November.
