Sindh Education Minister Says Exams For Academic Year 2020-21 May Be Postponed

Sindh education minister, Saeed Ghani has announced that annual exams for the academic year 2020-21 may be postponed due to the prolonged closure of the educational institutes in the province. Earlier the steering committee was held to monitor the situation of the pandemic and review the resumption of the academic activities. Moreover, the authorities also discussed the issues regarding the completion of the course in the remaining period. The minister said that after the meeting it has been decided to not hold the exams in haste as the students have not completed their curriculum and are not prepared to appear in the annual exams 2021. After the two prolonged closure phases, the complete curriculum has not been taught to the students so in this situation it is not possible to commence the exams. According to the directives issued after the meeting of the national command and operation center the schools for the grade nine to twelve have been reopened so that the students can complete their course work before the annual board exams.

SSC and HSSC Exams

Earlier the Sindh education and literacy department had announced the schedule to hold the annual exams of the matric and intermediate in the month of May/June. The proposed date for the annual examination of SSC part-I and II is 20th May 2021 and HSSC part-I and II will be held from 10th June 2021. The authorities ensured that there will be proper implementation of standard operating procedures in all the examination centers. Furthermore, the educational boards are directed to develop the model papers and the old paper pattern will be followed in the annual exams.
