Sindh High Court Orders To Delay National MDCAT Result 2020

The Sindh high court has ordered to delay the national MDCAT Result 2020. The SHC has directed the Pakistan medical commission to announce the result of both medical entrance exams together, one that was held on 29th November for those students who were not suffering from coronavirus and another one that will be held in December for the students affected by the coronavirus. Earlier the court has also dismissed the plea for the cancellation of the two separate medical entry tests.

MDCAT Result 2020

Previously the PMC Vice-President Barrister Ali Raza had said that the result of the MDCAT 2020 will be announced within 10 days after its commencement. And the candidates that had tested positive for COVID-19 would appear in the special MDCAT test that will be held on 13th December 2020. According to the PMC, only 138 candidates will take the special MDCAT exam. The PMC has ensured to conduct the special medical test by following the same pattern and standards that were being followed on the test conducted on 29th November.

Directives of SHC

The Sindh high court has appreciated the efforts of PMC to facilitate the students and remarked that according to the PMC act, it is not illegal to conduct the two separate medical tests because of the ongoing situation of the pandemic. The court further added that the PMC appears to be genuine in their actions as they have provided the COVID-19 affected students a chance to appear in the MDCAT that is an essential step to take admission in the medical and dental colleges. In this way the students will not be at disadvantage and their academic year can also be saved. But the court has directed the PMC to release the test for both the MDCAT tests on the same day . Furthermore, the authorities have to develop a single merit list for all the candidates.
